Thunder are Look for Improved Play Against Rockets in Game 2

2017 NBA Playoffs Rockets

Rockets Look to Keep Inside Dominance

The Oklahoma City Thunder and the Houston Rockets battle Wednesday in Game 2 of their playoffs series when they meet at Toyota Center. In their 118-87 win, the Rockets found plenty of space to move and score at the rim. They produced 62 points in the paint and 31 second-chance points against the bigger Thunder.

Oddsmakers opened the Rockets as -7.5-point favorites versus the Thunder, while the game's total opened at 224. The line is now Houston as an 8-point favorite and the total has been bet up to 225.

The Rockets covered in the game as a -7.5-point favorite, while 205 combined points moved the game UNDER for totals bettors. The Thunder pressed Rockets shooters on the perimeter hard. They limited Houston to 10-of-33 shooting on 3-pointers. The great outside defensive strategy allowed a layup line to form for Houston.

James Harden converted 9 of 12 shots at the rim, while scoring 37-points. He repeatedly victimized the Thunder off the dribble.

Oklahoma City, NBA MVP front-runner, Russell Westbrook shot just 6 of 23 from the floor. He committed nine turnovers as well.  Oklahoma City struggled on offense in the second half. The Rockets threw several bodies at Westbrook and gave him a taste of his own physical style.

Hawks Look to Slow Down Wizards Wall in Game 2

2017 NBA Playoffs Wizards

Wizards Wall Decided Game 1

The Atlanta Hawks and the Washington Wizards square off in Game 2 of the NBA Playoff Series on Wednesday when they battle at Verizon Center. John Wall of the Wizards single-handedly beat the Hawks in Game #1 on Sunday. If Atlanta doesn't find some defense tonight the results could be eerily similar.

Wall scored 15 of his 32 points in the third quarter. He finished with 14 assists in the Wizards' 114-107 win Sunday on their home court. The third period was when Washington found their second half of the regular season form. Their good play led to a 49-33 regular-season record.

Oddsmakers opened the Wizards as -6-point favorites versus the Hawks, while the game's total opened at 212.

Washington covered the -5.5-point spread as favorites, while the combined score (221) was profitable news for OVER bettors. Washington trailed 48-45 at halftime in Game 1. The Wizards outscored Atlanta 38-28 in the third quarter and led by as many as 15 points in the fourth.

The Hawks spent the past two days of practice focusing on slowing down Wall. At Tuesday's practice, Tim Hardaway and rookie Taurean Prince mentioned the idea of building a "wall" of defenders to prevent Wall from once destroying them on the fastbreak. Dennis Schroder had 25 points for the Hawks. They shot 43.6 percent from the field and committed 21 turnovers.

Oddsmakers have the Warriors listed as 12-point favorites and the total is now up to 220.

After scoring at least 27 points in each of the first three quarters, the Trail Blazers managed just 21 in the fourth. The final score was 121-109 for Golden State. Portland will need more from their supporting cast, as Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum combined for 75 points, while the rest of the team contributed 34.

Golden State had a far more balanced team effort. Four of their five starters scored at least 15 points. Kevin Durant led the way with 32 points, and Draymond Green had an incredibly productive game with 19 points, 12 rebounds, nine assists, five blocked shots and three steals.

The Warriors have now won nine straight times as the host in this series and 15 of the last 17 matchups overall. Game 2 is Wednesday at 10:30 PM ET in Oracle Arena, Oakland.

Nationals Open 3-Game Set at Suntrust Park in Atlanta

Suntrust Park Braves Baseball

Braves Unbeaten at Suntrust Park

The Atlanta Braves battle the Washington Nationals at SunTrust Park on Tuesday Night. Rookie of the Year candidate Dansby Swanson had a walk-off single last night to give the Braves a come from behind win 5-4. The Braves swept 4-games from the San Diego Padres.

Max Scherzer will be the starting pitcher for the Nationals on this day. Right hander Scherzer is 1-1 this season with a 2.13 ERA. Scherzer has pitched well in both of his starts this season. He has a win at Philadelphia and a loss against St. Louis. In his most recent outing on April 12 against the Cardinals, Scherzer struck out 10 in six innings. He allowed three runs, only one of them earned.

Mike Foltynewicz will start for the Braves. Right hander Foltynewicz is 0-1 with a 6.35 ERA so far this season. Foltynewicz was skipped when his last turn in the rotation came up. The schedule provided additional off days and the team didn't require a fifth starter. He did not pitch well in his first start. It was in occasionally snowy conditions in Pittsburgh.

Oddsmakers opened the Nationals as -172-moneyline favorites versus the Braves, while the game's total opened at 7.5. The Nationals are now -190 on the moneline and the total has climbed to 8.

NBA Playoffs: Bulls Look to Go Up 2-0 on Celtics

2017 NBA Playoffs

Thomas to Play Again Tuesday Night

The Chicago Bulls will look to shock the Celtics and go up 2-0 in their first round NBA Playoffs Series. They take on the Boston Celtics at TD Garden Tuesday Night. Guard Isaiah Thomas of the Celtics will fly to Tacoma  on Wednesday to join his grieving family following the death of his younger sister.

Oddsmakers opened the Celtics as -7-point favorites versus the Bulls, while the game's total opened at 206.5.

Boston was a 106-102 loser in the first game of this first round NBA Playoffs Series. They failed to cover the -6.5-point spread as favorites, while the total score of 208 sent OVER bettors to the payout window. Thomas scored 33 points in the game. The eighth-seeded Bulls took care of business on the boards the entire night against the Celtics to get the win.

Chicago won its opening round matchup by outrebounding the Celtics by 20 on the offensive glass. Bobby Portis was outstanding in his first playoffs game. He finished with 19 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots in 29 minutes off the Chicago bench.

NBA Playoffs Tuesday Free Pick- Milwaukee at Toronto Game 2

2017 NBA Playoffs

Bucks Looking to Take Control Tuesday

The Milwaukee Bucks are in position to take a 2-0 series lead against the favored Toronto Raptors when these two Eastern Conference foes square off against one another this Tuesday night in Game 2 of this opening round best-of-seven matchup in the playoffs. BetAnySports has opened Toronto as a 7.5-point home favorite for this 7 p.m. (ET) tip on NBA TV. The total line for the game has been set at 192.5. The total has edged up to 193.5 and the side still sees Toronto as 7.5 point favorites.

The Bucks stunned Toronto 97-83 in the series opener as 7.5-point road underdogs and the total stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ 197.5-point closing line. Milwaukee is now 3-1 both straight-up and against the spread in its last four games after failing to cover in eight of its previous 12 contests. The total has stayed UNDER or ended as a PUSH in its last six games.

Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way in Saturday’s win with 28 points and he has been the Bucks’ leading scorer all season long with an average of 22.9 points per game. Malcolm Brogdon added 16 points and he went 4-for-7 from three-point range. Milwaukee is averaging 103.6 PPG, but it has not been able to reach that total in its last six games.

Raptors Look to Even NBA Playoffs Series at One

The Raptors closed out the regular season with a SU four-game winning streak while going 2-1-1 ATS after knocking off Cleveland 98-83 as four-point road favorites in their final game. With the total staying UNDER in Saturday’s loss, it has now stayed UNDER four of their last six contests. The Raptors went a SU 28-13 at home in the regular season, but they have failed to cover in four of their last five home games.

Toronto was able to open up a five-point lead on the Bucks at halftime of Game 1, but it was only able to post 32 points in the second half. DeMar DeRozan scored a team-high 27 points and Serge Ibaka added 19 points in the losing cause, but the rest of the team only managed to produce a total of 37 points. The Raptors were 10th in the NBA in scoring during the regular season with an average of 106.9 PPG, but they have failed to hit that number in five of their last six games.

I like Toronto’s chances to even up this series at a game a piece with the SU win on Tuesday night, but my “best bet” pick is the UNDER on BetAnySports’ 193.5-point total line in another defensive battle.

NBA Playoffs: Spurs Look to Go up 2-0 on Grizzlies

2017 NBA Playoffs

Grizzlies Routed Game #1 in NBA Playoffs Series

The Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs meet in Game #2 of their opening round NBA Playoffs on Monday when they meet at AT&T Center. The Spurs rode a 19-0 surge over a five-minute span in the third and fourth quarters to turn a tight contest into a 111-82 rout.

Oddsmakers opened the Spurs as -10.5-point favorites versus the Grizzlies, while the game's total opened at 190. The Spurs have settled in as 11-point favorites and the total is at 189.

The Spurs were a 111-82 winner in their Game #1 matchup against the Grizzlies. They covered the -9.5-point spread as favorites, while the total score (193) made winners of OVER bettors. Kawhi Leonard led the Spurs with a career-playoff-high-tying 32 points. 15 of those came in the third quarter when he matched the Grizzlies' entire offensive output.

The Grizzlies failed to cover the +9.5-point spread as underdogs, while the total score (193) made winners of OVER bettors. Marc Gasol led the Grizzlies with 32 points. 25 of those came in the first half when he outscored the rest of his teammates combined. Gasol said the Spurs defended better as a team, especially in the paint, in the second half.

NBA Playoffs: Pacers and Cavs Game 2 Monday Night

2017 NBA Playoffs

Lebron is 45-7 Lifetime in First Round of NBA Playoffs

The Indiana Pacers and the Cleveland Cavaliers meet at Quicken Loans Arena in Game 2 of their opening round NBA Playoffs Series. LeBron James has never lost a first-round series. He is 45-7 lifetime in opening-round games. His teams have won the last 18 in row.

Oddsmakers opened the Cavaliers as -7.5-point favorites versus the Pacers, while the game's total opened at 212. Bettors have moved Cleveland to -8.5 and the total is now settled at 208.

Cleveland was a 109-108 winner in Game #1. The Cavaliers failed to cover as a -9-point favorite. The 217 combined points moved the game OVER for totals bettors. James was brilliant in Game 1. He had 32 points, 13 assists and six rebounds in 43 minutes. He needs only 37 points to pass Kobe Bryant (5,640 points) for third place in NBA playoff scoring history. King James needs two more rebounds to pass Robert Parish (1,765 rebounds) for eighth in postseason history.

Indiana lost Game 1 of the series 109-108. The Pacers covered in that game as a +9-point underdog. The 217 combined points took the game OVER the total. The Pacers lost when C.J. Miles missed an open 14-footer at the buzzer. They also went scoreless for nearly three minutes toward the end of the fourth quarter. This was after Jeff Teague's 3-pointer put Indiana ahead 105-103 with 3:31 left.
