Andrew Benintendi makes his first Major League start in left field when The Red Sox meet The Mariners at Safeco Field tonight.

Benintendi was deployed as a pinch-hitter and grounded to second in his
first career at-bat on Tuesday, becoming Boston's first prospect to make
his Major League debut one year after he was drafted since Fred Lynn in
1974. Rick Porcello has won eight decisions in a row and each of his
past six starts.

Porcello hasn't lost a game since May 17, having gone 8-0 with a 3.44
ERA over his subsequent 13 starts. His dependability has been a big
reason why the Red Sox (58-47) have been able to stay in the thick of
the American League East race despite some recent stumbles. Boston is
just 4-8 over its past 12 games yet is still within two games of the
first-place Baltimore Orioles in the division standings.

The Red Sox will face veteran Mariners right-hander Hisashi Iwakuma, who
leads the staff with 11 wins. He has been one of the Mariners' most
consistent starters this year, but his last outing was his roughest. He
allowed five runs on eight hits in just three innings against the Cubs
on July 29.

Seattle has a prized prospect of its own, new closer Edwin Diaz. The
flame-throwing rookie, who possesses a 100 mph fastball, made his debut
as closer on Tuesday night and struck out three of the four batters he
faced to earn his first career save.

Wager506.com has The Red Sox at -1 1/2 on the full game and -1/2 on the first 5 innings with a -105 line this morning. Mention Wager506.com at Handicappers Hideaway and get an extra 50% free play bonus today!

They're the only two profitable teams in the American League East, and
they were tied for first place coming into the new week. The Baltimore
Orioles (36-26, +9.68 betting units) and Boston Red Sox (36-26, +4.46
units) meet Wednesday night in the second of a three-game series at
Fenway Park. First pitch is at 7:10 PM ET on ESPN2.

Bet on baseball at Bodog and get a free 100% bonus.

Both teams will be at the back end of their starting rotations on
Wednesday. Third-year northpaw Kevin Gausman (4.33 FIP) is scheduled to
pitch for Baltimore, and looking to redeem himself after giving up five
runs to the Red Sox (+106 away) in a 6-2 loss back on May 31. Boston
responds with another third-year righty, knuckleballer Steven Wright
(3.20 FIP), who's in a serious groove this year. Wright pitched a
complete game on May 30 to beat the Orioles 7-2 and cash in at +108.

As long as they're getting good pitching, the Red Sox can win any game.
They're first in the majors in hitting at .839 OPS, dwarfing the very
powerful O's batting order at No. 4 overall (.785 OPS). Boston's relief
pitching has also performed better at 3.59 FIP to Baltimore's 3.83 FIP.

Blue Jays right-hander Aaron Sanchez will be tasked with holding down
the first-place Red Sox in the opener. Sanchez was originally scheduled
to pitch Thursday against the Yankees but his outing was pushed back to
gain an extra day of rest.

Sanchez (4-1, 3.20 ERA) hasn't pitched since giving up two runs on eight
hits with seven strikeouts in seven innings of last Friday's 9-3 win
over Minnesota. Edwin Encarnacion and Devon Travis drove in runs to help
offset the absence of Troy Tulowitzki for the second straight game.

The Red Sox will counter with right-hander Joe Kelly, who is coming off
his best outing of the season. Kelly returned from the disabled list on
Saturday and proceeded to surrender just one hit and three walks over
6-2/3 scoreless innings.

Boston's leadoff man Mookie Betts will return to the lineup on Friday
after his first day off of the season. Betts has had at least one hit
and one walk in his last six games, and 12 of his last 23 hits have been
for extra bases. Red Sox slugger David Ortiz, who is retiring at the
end of the season, has clubbed 39 career homers at Rogers Centre, by far
his highest total at any visiting park.

The Red Sox had their four-game winning streak snapped, and Jackie
Bradley Jr.'s 29-game hitting streak also came to an end when the final
out was recorded with him on deck. Xander Bogaerts' 19-game run now is
the longest streak in the majors.

First 5 innings bets stand at Blue Jays -½ +105 and o9 +100 on the full game at Wager506. They will guarantee your first bet on this game, if its a loss your risk money goes back in the account with a 7x roll only.

It's one of the most ancient and enduring rivalries in sports. The New
York Yankees and Boston Red Sox have faced each other 2,137 times over
the past 115 years, with the Yankees holding a 1,161-962 advantage
heading into their latest series at Fenway Park. Game 1 of this
three-game set takes place Friday night at 7:10 PM ET on the MLB
Network. Oddsmakers have the Yankees as a -114 favorite and the total is

This will be the first meeting of the 2016 regular season between the
Yankees (8-12, –5.90 betting units) and the Red Sox (12-9, +1.84 units).
Masahiro Tanaka is scheduled to take the mound for New York, while
Boston is expected to respond with Henry Owens, one of the top prospects
in the system.

Owens has been pressed into service because of injuries to the Red Sox
rotation; in his 2016 debut, the 6-foot-6 southpaw gave up three runs
over 3.1 innings in a 7-5 win over the Houston Astros (–105 at home).
Tanaka (3.14 FIP) might never be the same pitcher he was before he tore
his elbow during his 2014 “rookie” campaign, but he's played at a high
level this year, leading the Yankees to three wins in four starts for a
profit of 2.05 units.

MLB Betting: AL East-Leading Yankees Face Challenge in Rival Red Sox - Handicappers Hideaway

Betting on Red Sox Baseball

MLB Betting: AL East-Leading Yankees Face Challenge in Rival Red Sox

The depth of the American League East will be on full display this
weekend as the New York Yankees hit the road to dispatch their fabled
rivals. Although the Boston Red Sox are outside of the top four teams
fighting for first place, it’s hard to find a more compelling option to
wager on when betting on MLB.

Bet on baseball at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

With just 1.5 games separating the top team from the fourth-place team
in the AL East, every matchup between AL East rivals is a must-see
affair. Even Boston, only five games back of the top spot, can’t be
ignored.

In the World Series futures market, the Yanks lead all AL East teams
(16/1). The Sox, in contrast, sit farther down the line at 33/1. While a
series victory in the set would no doubt improve New York’s standing in
the win column, it could also serve as a necessary mental boost heading
into the dog days of summer.

Equipped with a 44-38 record, New York has shown that they can handle
high expectations. With a roster of trusted veterans and a rich history
that speaks for itself, now could mark the perfect opportunity for the
Yankees to start running away with the AL East Division. The first game
is set for Friday at 7:10 PM ET at Fenway Park.

MLB Odds: Contenders with Plenty to Prove Square off When Tigers Host Red Sox

Betting on Detroit Tigers Baseball

Any time the reigning World Series champions take on an MLB odds
powerhouse, the baseball betting community takes notice, but don’t think
that the Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers don’t still have plenty to
prove in 2014. In fact, if they don’t start proving their worth soon,
we’ll be left wondering if they ever will.

Bet on baseball at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

Below .500 and hard pressed to win their division, the Red Sox will
hope for a strong showing on the road at Comerica Park. The AL East is
as competitive as ever with the Blue Jays suddenly living up to
expectations, the O’s enjoying the proceeds of their star-studded lineup
and the Yankees bouncing back after a disappointing 2013.

Boston holds just +500 odds of winning the AL East and 25/1 odds on the World Series futures.

The Tigers, in contrast, have fared well enough in their division –
an admittedly watered down AL Central – but also haven’t left much of an
impression thus far in 2014. Although Miguel Cabrera has returned to
form after a slow start, his team has dropped out of the top spot in the
sportsbook.

Now with third-ranked 7/1 odds of winning the World Series, Detroit
will look to start making critics believe that this is the year they
finally put it all together. It won’t be easy, but it could start this
weekend.

MLB Odds: Dodgers, Tigers Center Stage as 2014 Campaign Approaches

Betting on MLB Games

After an official opening series in Sydney, Australia last week,
Major League Baseball is set to begin in earnest on Monday, the long,
boring offseason finally giving way to another spring of action. Given
the abundance of options at the top of the league totem pole, betting on
MLB out of the gates has never looked more appealing.

Bet on Major League Baseball at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

While the Boston Red Sox will flaunt their most recent display of
championship hardware over the course of the 2014 campaign, they have
just 12/1 odds of winning the World Series (fifth in baseball) and +220
MLB odds of winning the AL East division.

The Los Angeles Dodgers, in contrast, top the World Series futures
with 13/2 odds and even have -200 odds of winning the respectably
competitive NL West. Ace Clayton Kershaw?s 1.83 ERA and 232 in 33
contests last season were enough to land him a $215 million contract
extension, but will it help his squad in the win column?

The club deemed most likely to prevail in their division, the Detroit
Tigers, have -225 odds of winning the AL Central and 9/1 odds of going
all the way. Still, with a new head coach and some turnover in their
infield, there are no guarantees.

Will 2014 go down as the year of the heavyweights with a select few
powerhouse contenders competing for the pennants? Don?t overlook the
rest of the field, as sometimes it?s the underdogs who stand out as the
most intriguing MLB betting options.

Re-Tooled Red Sox Rising on MLB Betting Lines

After a horrendous end to the2011 season, the Boston Red Sox have picked themselves up, dusted off, and are ready to take on the MLB betting lines with many new faces and a new personality.

The Boston Red Sox began 2011 with a 2-10 record, and finished it by going 7-20 in September. They'll hope that the team that went 81-42 in between is the one that shows up in 2012, as that .659 winning percentage would have been the best in baseball - and good for 107 wins.

Injuries decimated Boston last year, with Josh Beckett, Erik Bedard, David Ortiz, John Lackey, Bobby Jenks, Adrian Gonzalez and others all spending time on the DL.

Gone are the likes of Jonathan Papelbon, Jed Lowrie and Josh Reddick. Even Terry Francona and Theo Epstein have moved on. In come Bobby Valentine, Mark Melancon, Andrew Bailey and Ryan Sweeney. There's a significant change in the atmosphere in Beantown, and it looks like it's for the better.

With 10/1 MLB futures, the Red Sox are only behind the Phillies (11/2), Yankees (13/2), Angels (7/1) and Tigers (8/1) on that list. With a second wild card team added for 2012, their chance of avoiding their 2011 fate becomes that much better. Bet on MLB now.
