2011 Cy Young and MVP winner Justin Verlander (12-6 W-L, 3.52 ERA)
pitched a 4-3 home win over the New York Mets in his last outing. He
allowed a pair of runs on four hits over six innings, striking out nine
and walking one. He’s now 5-0 in his last seven starts. The 33-year-old
righty is 10-8 in 19 career starts against the Mariners, posting a 3.35
ERA. Verlander is 5-3 in 10 road starts this season with a 3.76 ERA.

2010 Cy Young winner Felix Hernandez (6-4 W-L, 3.55 ERA) allowed two
homers in a 6-4 home win over the Los Angeles Angels along with four
runs on three hits in eight innings. Hernandez struck out six and walked
three, but he got the win, which was his second in his last four
starts. The 30-year-old has been fantastic against the Tigers over his
career; he’s 9-3 in 14 starts against Detroit, posting a 2.57 ERA.

There isn't much room for error, but the Toronto Blue Jays (64-49, +0.46
betting units) are on the right track. They're in good shape to earn at
least a Wild Card berth in the American League playoffs; this
Wednesday, the Jays can pick up another win at the expense of the
last-place Tampa Bay Rays (45-66, –27.97 units), beginning at 7:07 PM ET
on Sportsnet.

Bet on baseball at Bovada and get a free 100% bonus.

The Jays opened this three-game series with a bang Monday night, beating
Tampa Bay 7-5 as –155 home favourites. JA Happ (3.83 FIP) is scheduled
to start the finale for Toronto. Happ has been a pleasant surprise for
the Jays, picking up 10.79 units on a team record of 17-5. That includes
10 straight wins dating back to early June. Getting 6.36 runs per game
in support has helped. So has Happ's .271 BABIP.

Blake Snell (3.04 FIP) will twirl for Tampa in this lefty-on-lefty
matchup. Snell has been outstanding for the Rays in his rookie campaign,
but his teammates are letting him down; Tampa Bay is 3-7 in Snell's 10
starts for a loss of 4.43 units, scoring just 4.10 runs per game. This
will be his first-ever appearance against the Blue Jays.

Two weeks ago, Donald Trump and the Republican Party pulled even in the
polls with Hillary Clinton and the Democrats. Pretty much everything has
gone wrong for Trump since then. The Republicans have fallen from +200
to +250 to win the 2016 US presidential election; Clinton and the
Democrats are up from –260 to –325.

Bet on politics at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

The Democratic Party is enjoying the standard “bounce” coming out of
last week's convention; however, Trump has added to his problems by
making inflammatory comments about the Muslim parents of a fallen
American soldier. Trump also made the mistake of tweeting a picture
showing him about to eat a piece of Kentucky Fried Chicken – with a
knife and fork. On his private jet.

There are still three months to go before the election, but unless Clinton makes a major faux pas,
or outside forces (terrorists, Russian hackers) intervene, things are
not likely to improve from here for the GOP. In appealing to his base,
Trump has split the Republican Party in two, alienating people who would
otherwise be supporting his presidential campaign. We're likely to see
more of these disenfranchised Republicans come out and publicly endorse
Clinton, after the Congressional primaries are over.

Andrew Benintendi makes his first Major League start in left field when The Red Sox meet The Mariners at Safeco Field tonight.

Benintendi was deployed as a pinch-hitter and grounded to second in his
first career at-bat on Tuesday, becoming Boston's first prospect to make
his Major League debut one year after he was drafted since Fred Lynn in
1974. Rick Porcello has won eight decisions in a row and each of his
past six starts.

Porcello hasn't lost a game since May 17, having gone 8-0 with a 3.44
ERA over his subsequent 13 starts. His dependability has been a big
reason why the Red Sox (58-47) have been able to stay in the thick of
the American League East race despite some recent stumbles. Boston is
just 4-8 over its past 12 games yet is still within two games of the
first-place Baltimore Orioles in the division standings.

The Red Sox will face veteran Mariners right-hander Hisashi Iwakuma, who
leads the staff with 11 wins. He has been one of the Mariners' most
consistent starters this year, but his last outing was his roughest. He
allowed five runs on eight hits in just three innings against the Cubs
on July 29.

Seattle has a prized prospect of its own, new closer Edwin Diaz. The
flame-throwing rookie, who possesses a 100 mph fastball, made his debut
as closer on Tuesday night and struck out three of the four batters he
faced to earn his first career save.

Wager506.com has The Red Sox at -1 1/2 on the full game and -1/2 on the first 5 innings with a -105 line this morning. Mention Wager506.com at Handicappers Hideaway and get an extra 50% free play bonus today!

The Toronto Blue Jays will have some fresh faces when they visit the
Houston Astros this Wednesday (8:10 PM ET, SNET) in the third game of a
four-game series. Toronto made a handful of deals ahead of the August 1
non-waiver trade deadline, adding pitchers Scott Feldman and Francisco
Liriano while trading away Drew Hutchison and Jesse Chavez.

It'll be Marco Estrada (3.98 FIP) getting the nod for Toronto on
Wednesday. Estrada has pitched quite well, delivering 11 quality starts
in his last 12 games, but the Jays (59-47, –1.91 betting units) have
lost three of Estrada's last five starts to fall 0.93 units in the red
on a record of 10-8. The under is 12-6 this year with Estrada on the
mound.

Collin McHugh (3.75 FIP) has pitched even better than Estrada, and the
Astros (56-49, –5.54 units) have given him plenty of support at 5.10
runs per game, enough to generate 3.90 units of profit at 13-8 in his 21
starts. But this has still been a frustrating year for McHugh. Opposing
batters have a combined .362 BABIP off McHugh this season, pushing his
ERA all the way up to 4.75.

The Big Apple will be in the spotlight on Wednesday when the New York
Yankees hosts the New York Mets in Game 3 of the latest edition of the
“Subway Series”.

Bet on baseball at Bovada and get a 50% bonus.

The Mets will go with Steven Matz (8-7, 3.35), who lost for the fourth
time in five decisions in a 6-1 loss to Colorado at home. Matz allowed
two runs on 10 hits over six innings, but he’s been hurt by a lack of
run support. The Mets have scored two runs or less in each of his four
recent losses. Matz has faced the Yankees just once in his career,
taking a win last year in his rookie season.

The Yankees were going to give the ball to Ivan Nova (7-6, 4.90), but he
was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates at the deadline on Monday. The
Yankees lost four straight to end July and while sitting with a .500
record in fourth place in the American League East, decided to have a
big fire sale. Carlos Beltran and All-Star reliever Andrew Miller were
also moved. A lot of young prospects are in the process of being called
up as this team will look very different down the stretch of the season.

Every year, The International sets a new record. This is by far the
largest E-sports tournament in the world, with a prize pool of $18.7
million (and growing) up for grabs in 2016. The best Dota 2 teams
from around the world will gather at KeyArena in Seattle, starting
August 3 and wrapping up with the Grand Finals on August 13. And the
best of the best, leading the way at +250, is the juggernaut known as
OG.

Bet on E-sports at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

There isn't a hotter team on the planet right now. OG (hailing from
Europe and captained by Tal “Fly” Aizik) have already won two Dota 2
majors this year, the Manila Major and the ESL One Frankfurt. No other
team has won more than one official Valve Corporation event – Valve
being the developers and publishers of Dota 2.

As usual, Team Liquid are the one team in the 18-team field (including
the four Wild Cards) expected to give OG a serious run for their money.
These European rivals have been at each other's throats all year, with
OG usually getting the better of it. Team Liquid are +400 at press time;
Wings Gaming (+550) and Newbee (+650) are the second-tier contenders.
