The AL East is arguably the best race in baseball right now, with three
teams vying for a top spot. Two of the three teams close out a
three-game set on Wednesday when the Baltimore Orioles host the Toronto
Blue Jays. The Jays started the week with a three-game lead over the
Orioles.

Bet on baseball at Bovada and get a 50% bonus.

Aaron Sanchez (12-2, 2.99 ERA) took a no-decision in his last outing on
August 20; it was a 6-5 win in Cleveland, during which he was tagged for
five runs on four hits over four innings, striking out five and walking
one. The Jays then sent Sanchez to the minors, but he didn't pitch
because they’re monitoring his innings. The 24-year-old righthander is
2-0 in three starts against the Orioles this season, posting a 4.50 ERA.

Yovani Gallardo (4-6, 5.69) lasted just 1.1 innings in his latest
outing, which was a 14-4 road loss to the New York Yankees. He was
knocked around for eight runs (seven earned) on six hits, striking out
none and walking one. The 30-year-old righty, who is 0-3 in his last
four starts, has split a pair of starts against the Blue Jays this
season, although he has an ERA of 6.75 in those games.

The fans at BMO Field will be treated to a game between the 2nd place
British Columbia Lions and the East Leading Toronto Argonauts when they
take their seats on Wednesday night. This should be a tight game as each
team is jockeying for home field advantage in the CFL Playoffs.

Oddsmakers currently have the Lions listed as 3-point favorites versus the Argonauts, while the game's total is sitting at 54.

Last time out for Toronto, they were a 46-23 loser as they battled the
Eskimos at home. The Argonauts failed to cover in the contest as a
+2.5-point underdog, while 69 combined points moved the game OVER for
totals bettors.

In their last action, British Columbia was a 29-23 winner on the road
against the RedBlacks. They covered the +2.5-point spread as underdogs,
while the combined score (52) was profitable news for UNDER bettors.

Can Appalachain State pull the Upset on a Vols Team Hoping to Make Strides in 2016? - Handicappers Hideaway

The Appalachian State Mountaineers and the Tennessee Volunteers will be
battling to open the 2016 College Football season for both teams at
Neyland Stadium on Thursday. Tennessee is trying to take huge strides
this season under Butch Jones after a tumultuous off-season with sexual
assault allegations, along with bullying by some coaches. Appalachain
State is trying to prove they can compete on a yearly basis in the
Football Bowl Championship Series.

Oddsmakers currently have the Volunteers listed as 21-point favorites versus the Mountaineers, while the game's total has set at 60.5.

Tennessee has to keep from overlooking the Mountaineers with Virgia Tech
on the Horizon next Saturday at Bristol Motor Speedway. Even without
Frank Beamer, the Hokies will still be a quality football team.

Appalachian State hosts Old Dominion next Saturday, so they will not be
looking past the Vols. I would expect them to pull out all the stops in
this season opening match up that can open some eyes to people around
the nation if they can pull off the upset.

Appalachian State:

Team record: 11-2 SU,6-7 ATS

Current Streak: won 4 straight games.

Tennessee:

Team record: 9-4 SU,8-5 ATS

Current Streak: won 6 straight games.

NCAA Football Week 1 Preview & Free Pick- South Carolina at Vanderbilt - Handicappers Hideaway

A new season of college football on ESPN opens this week with a SEC
clash this Thursday night between the South Carolina Gamecocks and the
Vanderbilt Commodores in a 8 p.m. (ET) start at Vanderbilt Stadium. BetAnySports has opened the Commodores as 3.5-point home favorites with the betting line for the total set at 42.5.

South Carolina is coming off a tough year in SEC play with a straight-up
1-7 mark. Its lone conference win of the season came against Vanderbilt
in a 19-10 victory in mid-October as a slight 1.5-point home favorite.
The total stayed well UNDER BetAnySports’ closing 45.5-point line and it
stayed UNDER in four of the Gamecocks last six games.

New head coach Will Muschamp will have the tall task of turning around an offense that sunk to 110th in the nation in scoring with 22.3 points per game. His defense was not all that much better at 72nd
in average points allowed (27.5). The quarterback position remains up
in the air for 2016, but it looks like Perry Orth should get the
starting nod on Thursday night.

The Commodores were not much better in the SEC last season at 2-6 SU and
the total stayed UNDER or ended as a PUSH in 11 of their 12 games
overall. They failed to cover against the spread on BetAnySports’ closing betting line in three of their final five games in 2015. Overall, Vanderbilt went 4-8 SU with a 6-5-1 record ATS.

Head coach Derek Mason will go with Kyle Shurmur as his starting
quarterback for the season opener after he started five of the team’s
final six games in 2015. This unit has nowhere to go but up after
averaging a dismal 18.4 points a game last year. Fortunately, Vanderbilt
does have eight starters returning to a defense that was ranked 22nd in the nation last year in points allowed (21.0).

It is hard to know what to expect from these two teams on Thursday
night, but I do think we will see a tight battle that keeps the scoring
to minimum on both sides of the scoreboard. Stick with the UNDER 42.5
points at BetAnySports as the top play in this conference clash.

Week 1 of the FBS college football season is getting an early start –
literally. It will be noon local time (10 PM ET, ESPN) when the Hawaii
Rainbow Warriors play the California Golden Bears this Friday at the ANZ
Stadium in Sydney, Australia. The Bears have opened as massive 20-point
favorites, although the early action has been on Hawaii.

After a week of heavy betting the Cal Bears have settled in at 20-1/2 point favorites and the total is sitting at 67.

Bet on college football at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

The Warriors have seen better days. They went 3-10 SU and ATS last year,
dropping all eight of their conference games in the Mountain West. Nick
Rolovich, a former quarterback and offensive coordinator at Hawaii,
will try to resurrect this program in his maiden voyage as a head coach.

California enjoyed a reasonably good 2015 campaign at 8-5 SU and 6-7
ATS, ending the season with a convincing 55-36 win over Air Force (+5.5)
at the Armed Forces Bowl. But the Bears enter their fourth year of
football under Sonny Dykes with lowered expectations after QB Jared Goff
went No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft. It's up to new starter Davis Webb
to pick up the slack; Webb transferred from Texas Tech after finishing
his degree, and looks like a comfortable fit in the Bear Raid offense.

We're down to the finals at the Summer Playoffs for the League of Legends
Championship Series. The titles in both the North American and European
Union brackets will be decided this Sunday; Team SoloMid are heavy –450
favorites for their match against Cloud9 in Toronto, while G2 Esports
are –225 against Splyce in Krakow.

Bet on e-sports at Bovada and get a 50% bonus.

Team SoloMid have now reached the NA finals eight out of eight times,
winning three championships thus far. However, they did drop
back-to-back titles to Cloud9 in 2013 (Summer) and 2014 (Spring). Then
TSM got their revenge on Cloud9 in the next two finals. This summer's
team tore through the Group Stage with a record of 17-1; Cloud9 were
third at 12-6.

The EU final pits the top two teams from the regular season, with G2
(10-8) taking first and Splyce (9-6-3) taking second. G2 are the
reigning champs from this year's Spring Split, marking their first major
title since launching in 2014. Splyce are new on the scene, formed from
the ashes of Team Dignitas EU, which was sold to Follow eSports last
October. They finished the Spring Split at 5-13 and had to win their way
out of relegation to reclaim their LCS spot.

The British Columbia Lions and the Ottawa RedBlacks will be jockeying
for playoff position when they battle at TD Place Stadium. The Thursday
night primetime game, televised by ESPN, Ottawa is a 1/3 game ahead of
the Hamilton Tiger Cats in the Eastern Conference, while BC is two games
back of the Calgary Stampeders in the Western Conference.

Oddsmakers currently have the RedBlacks listed as 2½-point favorites versus the Lions, while the game's total is sitting at 56½.

Last time out for Ottawa, they were a 43-19 loser as they battled the
Alouettes at home. The RedBlacks failed to cover in the match as a
-8.5-point favorite, while 62 combined points moved the game OVER for
totals bettors.

In their last action, British Columbia was a 37-9 loser at home against
the Stampeders. They failed to cover the -2.5-point spread as favorites,
while the combined score (46) was profitable news for UNDER bettors.

NFL Preseason Week 3 Preview & Free Pick- Atlanta at Miami - Handicappers Hideaway

In a nationally broadcast matchup on NBC this Thursday night, the
Atlanta Falcons will go on the road to face the Miami Dolphins in Week 3
of NFL preseason. BetAnySports has opened the Dolphins as 2.5-point home favorites and the betting line for the total has been set at 43.5.

The Falcons come into this game with a perfect 2-0 record in the
preseason both straight-up and against the spread. They started things
off with a 23-17 victory against Washington as three-point home
favorites and last Thursday they beat Cleveland 24-13 as one-point
underdogs on the road. The total went OVER BetAnySports’ closing
37-point line against the Redskins and its stayed UNDER 38.5 points
against the Browns.

Matt Ryan has been limited to just six completions for 78 yards on 15
passes in his first two preseason games, but it what will be the closest
thing to an actual game-like situation, he should see at least one half
of playing time this Thursday night. We should also get a good look at
Devonte Freeman running the ball after leading the team with 1,056
rushing yards on 265 carries in the 2015 regular season.

Miami has faced a pair of NFC East teams in its first two preseason
games starting with a 27-10 victory over the New York Giants in Week 1
as a one-point road underdog. This past Friday, the Dolphins lost to
Dallas 41-14 on the road in a game that closed as a PICK with
BetAnySports. The total ended as a PUSH in the game against New York and
it went well OVER the 41-point line against the Cowboys.

When fifth-year quarterback Ryan Tannehill was under center for Miami in
last week’s game he was able to move the ball down the field against
Dallas through the air. He put the ball up 20 times in that game and
completed 12 passes for 162 yards and two touchdowns. Running backs
Isaiah Pead and Daniel Thomas combined for 78 yards on 11 carries and
Kenny Stills was the team’s leading receiver with three receptions for
71 yards and two scores. Running back Arian Foster is also part of the
mix on Miami’s offense and he should see some additional playing time in
this game.

Both team’s starters should remain in the game into the second half
giving the slight edge to Atlanta as the better overall ball club right
now. I will take the Falcons and the 2.5 points on BetAnySports’ betting line for this game as my “best bet” pick.

As September approaches, the San Francisco Giants (68-56, -2.15 betting
units) and the Los Angeles Dodgers (69-55, -4.91 betting units) are
battling for the National League West title. The Dodgers host the Giants
in the second of a three-game set on Wednesday, starting at 10:10 PM
ET.

Bet on baseball at Bovada and get a 50% bonus.

The Giants will start with Johnny Cueto (14-3, 2.90 ERA) who’s coming of
an 8-1 win over the New York Mets. Cueto allowed a run on eight hits
over seven innings, striking out two and he didn't walk a batter for the
first time in eight starts. The 30-year-old All-Star is 2-0 in three
starts against the Dodgers this season, posting an ERA of 3.63.

The Dodgers will counter with Rich Hill (9-3, 2.25 ERA), who’s back in
action for the first time in over a month. He returns from the disabled
list with a blister, hoping to make his Dodgers debut. In his last start
with the Oakland Athletics, Hill won a 3-1 decision in Houston, giving
up a run on three hits over six innings with 10 strikeouts and a pair of
walks. The 36-year-old lefty is 2-1 in five career starts against the
Giants with an ERA of 3.18.

With fewer than 40 games remaining in the 2016 regular season, the
Toronto Blue Jays (70-54, +0.47 betting units) are in the thick of a
three-way race for first in the American League East. The Los Angeles
Angels (52-72, –20.13 units), on the other hand, are last in the AL West
by 20.5 games heading into Monday's action. They'll meet Wednesday at
Rogers Centre; Sportsnet has the coverage starting at 7:07 PM ET.

Bet on baseball at Bovada and get a 100% bonus.

Marco Estrada (4.17 FIP) is scheduled to pitch for Toronto. The
33-year-old righty has an unusual talent for creating “soft” contact,
posting a ridiculously low .215 BABIP to take the edge off his
propensity for giving up walks (3.13 per nine innings) and home runs
(1.22/9 IP). Estrada remains 0.93 units in the red this year on a team
record of 12-9.

In theory, Los Angeles has the better right arm in 29-year-old Matt
Shoemaker (3.61 FIP), but he's been snake-bitten by a .321 BABIP. The
light-hitting Halos (.727 OPS) have also given Shoemaker just 3.21 runs
per game in support, leaving themselves 8-16 and 8.53 units in debt
during his 24 starts. The under is 14-9-1 for Shoemaker and 13-8 for
Estrada this year.
