2012 Belmont Stakes

The 144th Belmont Stakes (G1) will take place on Saturday, June 9. Hosted by Belmont Park in Elmont, NY, the $1M Belmont Stakes is run at a distance of 1 ½ miles and is the final jewel in the Triple Crown series of races.

This year, the Triple Crown is up for grabs by 3-year-old son of Flower Alley, I'll Have Another. Trained by Doug O'Neill, I'll Have Another captured the $2M Kentucky Derby (G1) on May 5 at Churchill Downs by running down pacesetter Bodemeister in deep stretch. On May 19, he ran a similar race in the $1M Preakness Stakes (G1) at Pimlico Race Course, stalking Bodemeister until the stretch run and catching him in the final strides. Find Belmont Stakes betting lines on I'll Have Another at Bovada as he seeks the elusive Triple Crown.

While two-time Triple Crown runner-up Bodemeister will not make the trip to New York, several other Kentucky Derby starters will. Dullahan, a son of Even the Score, finished third in the Kentucky Derby but missed the Preakness Stakes in favor of a month's rest. He recently turned in a 5-furlong breeze at Churchill Downs on May 19 timed in 1:00.20 and looks sharp in his bid for spoiler. Find horse racing odds on Dullahan at the Bovada Racebook.

Looking for a chance to redeem a second straight disappointment is Union Rags, last year's runner-up for champion 2-year-old. A jockey change is likely in the works for this son of Dixie Union, who could not find his way out of trouble in either the Kentucky Derby (in which he finished 7th) and the Florida Derby (G1) back in March. Make your 2012 Belmont Stakes bets on Union Rags at Bovada.

The Playoff Test: Stars Measure Strength Against Betting Favorite Pittsburgh

The Dallas Stars will have to find a way to pick up a few extra wins heading into the final stretch of the season, and they'll get their first true opportunity to do so on Wednesday against the Pittsburgh Penguins. After missing out on the postseason the past few years, they'll look to add to their 2012 NHL odds any way they can.

Don't have an account? Join now.

Although, sure, the Pens sit just sixth in the Eastern Conference, there's no denying their legitimacy as a Stanley Cup futures contender. Even without Sidney Crosby the depth and experience of the team puts them as a threat on the NHL betting line.

With 10/1 odds of winning the Stanley Cup according to Bovada's oddsmakers - the fifth highest such mark in the NHL - they've proven that reputation matters.

That will be a hard fact to shake when Jamie Benn and Loui Eriksson look to launch the Stars into the playoffs for the first time since 2008. Dallas has increased their season point totals in each of the last three years but fell just short in 2011 with 95 points.

Is a return to the postseason in the cards? They do have 60/1 odds on the NHL futures line. Fans and bettors alike will get a better idea of what to expect out of Dallas after the Wednesday clash with slightly-favored Pittsburgh.

Sixers in the Spotlight as NBA Betting Resumes

Nobody knows exactly what's been going on with the Philadelphia 76ers this season, but it's worked. Not only are they first in a half-decent Atlantic Division, they've hung with the Eastern Conference's best all year long. Now the success has started to translate over to the NBA betting line.

The biggest stars hit the hardwood.

Bet on the NBA at Bovada.

Have the first few months of the season been a legitimate demonstration of what the Sixers bring to the table? Though they squeezed into the playoffs last spring, the success they've enjoyed over the course of the 2011-12 campaign is something new.

This Tuesday, as players flock back to work after the All-Star Break, the Sixers will travel to Michigan for a run-in with the unpredictable Detroit Pistons. With 30/1 odds of winning the NBA championship - compared to Detroit's 500/1 mark - Philadelphia is the obvious favorite heading into the game, but that?s what makes the matchup so intriguing.

Not only is Detroit hard to gauge - they've beaten Orlando once and Boston twice, yet continue to sit in the basement - but the jury is still out on Philadelphia as a contender.

Though their record has pushed them to the top of their division, NBA odds makers and fans alike are reluctant to buy in to a club whose leading scorer averages just over 15 points per game.

Think you know how the future will unfold? Are the 76ers legit? Bet on the NBA with Bovada today.

Big 12 Behemoths Wage War on NCAA Betting Line

A pair of Big 12 teams will flaunt what they've got this Saturday, looking to not only climb the NCAA betting line, but prove that they're just as much contenders to win the March Madness tournament as any of the other more celebrated programs throughout the country.

Place sweetheart teasers on college basketball and score a $25 Free Bet.

Need to learn more about sweetheart teasers first? Head over to Bovada's online sportsbook now. The Kansas Jayhawks may not be perennial hype machines like the North Carolina Tar Heels or Duke Blue Devils, but their ability to hang among college basketball's elite hasn't been completely ignored either. Now ranked No. 5 in the polls, the Jayhawks will be expected to live up to expectations.

Over the course of the season so far they've exercised that customary might with victories over Ohio State and Baylor, but they've also had their fair share of setbacks against teams like Kentucky and Duke.

Most recently a pair of losses to Iowa State and the Missouri Tigers have put a dent in their credibility.

The Jayhawks will get their chance for redemption against those No. 3 Tigers as early as this Saturday. Weigh in on the tilt with Bovada's college basketball betting line.

Can Kansas, having gathered steam in conference play these past few weeks, upset Big 12-leading Mizzou? You can imagine, having lost only twice this season, the Tigers won?t exactly be ready and willing to surrender.

UFC 144 Odds: Henderson goes for Title against Edgar

It's been over 10 years since a UFC card was held in Japan, and UFC 144 marks the return with a slew of fights, including Frankie Edgar defending his Lightweight Championship against Ben Henderson.

Head over to Bovada for all the UFC betting lines for this week's event.

Edgar won the title at UFC 112 and has retained the title through three defenses, winning two with a draw. His toughest challenge yet comes in the larger Henderson, who has won his last three bouts by unanimous decisions, including Fight of the Night against Clay Guida on Nov. 12. Edgar is a -130 favorite at the Bovada sportsbook.

In another headline event, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson battles Ryan Bader. Jackson's trying to show that he still has something to prove, while Bader's just trying to prove he can handle the big boys. Despite that, the edge goes to Jackson, whose betting line is -260.

The other main card fights at UFC 144 features Mark Hunt and Cheick Kongo, Yoshihiro Akiyama against Jake Shields, Yushin Okami versus Tim Boetsch, Hatsu Kioki battling Bart Palaszewski and Anthony Pettis with Joe Lauzon. Visit Bovada's online sportsbook for all the best UFC betting lines for these fights.

Jeremy Lin Collides With LeBron James on NBA Betting Line

The NBA Hype Machine is bound to explode this Thursday as the Miami Heat look to play host to the red-hot and wildly impressive New York Knicks. Can LeBron James and company make short work of Jeremy Lin on the NBA betting line? That's where you come in.

Place sweetheart teasers on NBA basketball and score a $25 Free Bet. Need to learn more about sweetheart teasers first? Head over to Bovada's online sportsbook now.

Although the Knicks have risen rapidly up the standings and Bovada's list of NBA futures, the Heat remain the team to beat and for good reason. Not only does Miami have the top record in the Eastern Conference heading into the clash, they sit first in the league with 3/2 odds of winning the championship.

The Knicks, though markedly improved from what they once were, are just 18/1.

Can the Linsanity continue in Miami? Not only do the Heat present more than intimidating competition, Carmelo Anthony is also back on board, healthy and ready to reclaim top dog status. Will Anthony look to steal the show to impress his pals from the 2003 NBA Draft class?

Over the course of the past few weeks we've seen Lin establish himself as an overnight sensation, knocking down game-winning jumpers and taking over games despite increased coverage. He's already beaten Kobe Bryant for gawdsakes. Is a victory over Miami the natural progression? If so, what happens to the NBA odds?

College Basketball Betting Pits Struggling Miss St. Against No. 1 Kentucky

Anthony Davis and the top-ranked Kentucky Wildcats will look to extend their win streak this week while strengthening their grip on the college basketball betting line. Already favored to win the March Madness tournament, the No. 1 club will travel to Mississippi State for battle with the No. 23 Bulldogs.

Check out Bovada's Sports Welcome Bonus: Sign up and deposit for your 20% Free Bet Bonus up to $100

Can the fringe contender Bulldogs pull off their biggest victory of the season after a pair of back-to-back losses last week? This Tuesday, with the NCAA odds stacked against them, they'll look to put a dent in Kentucky's flawless conference record.

Currently the Wildcats sit out in front of the SEC pack, including No. 12 Florida who remains a clear-cut second in the division. A win would allow Mississippi State a share of the spotlight while climbing further up the polls.

According to Bovada's college basketball odds makers, the Wildcats have a nation-leading 3/1 shot of winning the NCAA tournament. On that same March Madness futures line, the Bulldogs come in at just 200/1.

Still, provided Mississippi State can hold on for the final weeks of the regular season, they'll find themselves in the bracket of 64 where anything can happen. Bet on college basketball today with Bovada.

Questions Surround Pittsburgh While Rangers Lead NHL Odds

Can the Pittsburgh Penguins take a round out of the Eastern Conference-leading New York Rangers this week? We'll find out on Tuesday when the two Atlantic Division juggernauts clash on the NHL betting line.

Although the Rangers may hold the advantage both in the division and on the NHL futures board, there's a reason the Penguins - regardless of where they may sit in the conference - are widely considered a perennial threat.

Would a Sidney Crosby return down the stretch give the Pens the advantage they need to cash in on the NHL odds that give them a 12/1 shot at winning the title? The Rangers, in contrast, lead the entire league with 11/2 odds on that same Stanley Cup futures line.

Although there's no word on when Sid the Kid might make his return to the ice in Pittsburgh, NHL odds makers haven't ignored the fact that the man has been skating consistently since last month. Is a symptom-free Crosby imminent?

Even with their All-Star center, however, the Penguins have a long way to go before they're the talk of the conference. Led by goaltender Henrik Lundqvist, the Rangers have legitimately emerged as the team to beat in the East.

Is New York simply due for a deep playoff run? Weigh in on the NHL odds line today.

Bracket Busters Preview: NCAA Betting Line Pits Unknown Contenders Head-to-Head

A pair of ranked mid-major programs you've probably never heard of will square off on the college basketball betting line this Saturday, adding a refreshing new angle to the typical NCAA odds scene. Favored in the bout will be No. 7 Murray State at home against No. 13 St. Mary's.

20% Sports Welcome Bonus: Sign up and deposit for your 20% Free Bet bonus.

What the clubs may lack in name recognition or major conference clout they've made up for in sheer performance as the Gaels (that would be St. Mary's, by the way) have ridden to a 23-3 mark, with an additional 12-1 record in the West Coast standings.

The Murray State Racers, on the other hand, have gone to town on the Ohio Valley standings where they now sit 12-1 in conference play and 24-1 overall.

With the weeks whipping by before the NCAA tournament this spring, it's hard not to wonder where little known teams like these two sit on the March Madness odds list. According to Bovada?s college basketball odds makers, both are longshots to put a dent in the year-end bracket.

Will continued solid play put them on the national radar along the likes of Kentucky and Duke? Maybe not, but there are always openings in March for unheralded programs from unknown conference ready and willing to slay the contenders.

Get a taste of what Murray State and St. Mary's offer on the college basketball betting line this weekend.

Toronto-Vancouver Rivalry Unfold on NHL Betting Line

If nothing else, Canadians will have something to fight about this Saturday as the Vancouver Canucks play host to the Toronto Maple Leafs on the NHL betting line. More than just a transnational rivalry, however, the matchup also serves as a legitimate measuring stick for the currently playoff-bound Leafs.

NHL odds and props at Bovada.

Is a postseason berth in the cards for a Toronto team that hasn't played spring hockey since before the lockout? According to Bovada's NHL odds makers, they have just 28/1 odds of winning the Stanley Cup.

Still, although the Leafs may sit in a weight class with the New Jersey Devils and Florida Panthers, they're ahead of Northeast rivals in both the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators.

With a victory over the Canucks, could the Leafs prove themselves capable of upstaging a contender if given the opportunity? Vancouver has league-best 6/1 odds of winning the Stanley Cup. Saturday, for Maple Leafs fans at least, is Judgment Day.

Given the amount of commotion and uncertainty in the Eastern Conference, there are few guarantees as to who might make the final cut in the bracket. Though Vancouver's place is all but sealed out West, it's games like this one where postseason tickets are won and lost.
